Curtains Come Down On Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Curtains came down on 17th Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav on Monday with scintillating performances by eminent dance groups of the state and outside.

The evening kicked off with classical-folk fusion by Naivedya, Bhubaneswar. The performance of ‘Ananya Odisha’ projected Odisha with its vibrant colour celebrating her spirit. The lyrics were by Kedar Mishra, music by Guru Bijay Kumar Jena, Guru Sachikanta Nayak and Guru Sumanta Mohanty, rhythm by Guru Dhaneswar Swain and Guru Bijay Kumar Barik while the dance was choreographed by Guru Aruna Mohanty and Bijay Kumar Sahoo.

It was followed by Kuchupudi by Shambhavi School of Dance from Bengaluru led by Guru Vyjayanthi Kashi; Odissi dance by Nrutya Nilaya from Angul led by Guru Swapnarani Sinha and Sareikela Chhau dance by Acharya Chhau Nrutya Bichitra from New Delhi led by Guru Shashadhar Acharya.

The three-day event organised by Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Orissa Dance Academy, Bhubaneswar and Art Vision, Bhubaneswar.

 

Among others, the concluding day event was attended by Asit Tripathy, Chairman, Western Odisha Development Council; Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, Skill Development Authority; Susmita Bagchi, Chairperson, Mo School; Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, Director, Tourism; Guru Aruna Mohanty, Secretary, Orissa Dance Academy and Guru Ileana Citaristi, Secretary, Art Vision. The programme was anchored by Srinivas Ghatuari and Nazia Sayeed.
