Daily COVID Cases Remain Below 1,000 In Odisha; A Relief But Surveillance Will Continue, Says Public Health Director
Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 925 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including 203 in the 0-18 age group testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to the I & PR Department, 542 fresh cases are from quarantine and 383 local contacts.
State Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra said that the numbers were declining and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) had dropped below 5 per cent in almost all districts of Odisha except one.
Terming the present situation as a relief, Mishra said that surveillance will continue with the state continuing to test around 60,000 samples daily. “If Omicron cases rise again, the situation will quickly change, so we have to remain cautious,” he added.

Besides, 24 are from the state pool.
With 55,580 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.66 per cent.
Odisha now has 10,271 active cases.
