New Delhi: In a heartening trend amid the COVID-19 gloom, the country logged 3,69,077 recoveries on Thursday, which far exceeded the new infections (2,76,110) reported in the last 24 hours.
This was for the seventh consecutive day that the country saw more recoveries than fresh cases.
It was also the fourth day that India saw less than 3 lakh daily cases.
Also India saw a slight dip in daily deaths at 3,874 compared to Wednesday’s record high of 4,529 fatalities, the Union Health Ministry informed.
Among the states, Tamil Nadu reported the highest of 34,875 new cases followed by Karnataka with 34,281 cases, Maharashtra with 34,031 cases, Kerala with 32,762 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 23,160 cases.
The maximum daily deaths (594) were reported in Maharashtra, followed by Karnataka (468).
At present, the total death toll stands at 2,87,122. The country has 31,29,878 active cases.
