Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police on Wednesday conducted a surprise raid on a dance bar at Laxmisagar on Cuttack Road here.
Eight girls were rescued from the spot.
A musical performance was underway inside the bar when the raid was conducted.
“The raid was carried out by a team of Laxmisagar police following information that the bar was being run without licence. However, it is still unclear whether the bar authorities had flouted the guidelines or not,” a police officer informed.
The bar has been sealed and further investigation is on. Further action will be initiated after submitting the investigation report to the excise department, the officer added.
