New Delhi: There was heartbreaking news from the Capital on Saturday as talented young actress Suhani Bhatnagar breathed her last.
Suhani, who played young Babita Kumari Phogat in Aamir Khan’s much-loved superhit movie ‘Dangal’, was just 19.
She had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS Delhi for quite some time after fracturing a leg, Dainik Jagran reported.
Suhani reportedly developed a side-effect from medication.
Aamir Khan’s production house confirmed the sad news in an Instagram post.
“We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji, and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, Dangal would have been incomplete without Suhani,” the note said.
“Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts May you rest in peace,” it stated.
Suhani, who was just 12 when she played young Babita Kumari in the 2016 film, shared screen space with Aamir, Sakshi Tanwar and Zaira Wasim. She also featured in some commercials.
Suhani had taken a break from acting to focus on her studies.
Nitesh Tiwari, the director of ‘Dangal’, expressed shock.
“Suhani’s passing away is absolutely shocking and heartbreaking. She was such a happy soul, so full of life. My deepest condolences to her family,” said Tiwari.
