Kotpad: A decomposed body was found in a temple pond at Kurmakot near here in Koraput district Thursday evening.
According to villagers, the body resembles that of Lakshman Goud who was missing since September 6. He is suspected to have been murdered by unknown assailants. Lakshman’s father Kamal Lochan has filed a complaint with Kotpad police station suspecting the incident as a murder. Scientific teams and dog squad have reached the village.
Kotpad police station incharge Seshadev Behera said unknown miscreants might have hacked Lakshman to death while he was asleep on the verandah of Thakurani temple on September 6. Lakshman’s body is suspected to have been wrapped in a blanket before being dumped in the temple pond.
Further investigations are underway.
