The first one is a 500-bed hospital at KIIMs in Bhubaneswar and the second one is at Ashwini Hospital Cuttack with 150-bed capacity. Both the hospitals have been sponsored by Odisha Mining Corporation.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik thanked both the management of KIIMs and Ashwini hospital for their cooperation and faster implementation. The CM also interacted with the doctors and paramedics and appreciated their commitment and noble service in the fight against coronavirus.

The CM also hoped that although the state government is ready to provide better health care to COVID-19 patients in these stand-alone hospitals, “we can win the fight through social distancing and hand washing while observing the lockdown guidelines”.

It may be mentioned that the CM had announced free treatment, free food and rent-free stay for all COVID-19 patients in these hospitals.

Meanwhile, the third COVID hospital of the state government with a capacity of 500 beds and managed by IMS & SUM Hospital and sponsored by the Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd MCL), will be ready in the next three days, official sources said.
