Delhi Schools Won’t Reopen Till There Is A Vaccine: Health Minister
New Delhi: Schools in Delhi are unlikely to reopen till a vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease is available, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Thursday.
“There are no plans to open the schools as of now. A vaccine is likely to become available soon. Until we are completely sure about the situation being in control, schools are unlikely to open in Delhi,” the minister stated.
Delhi reported just over 5,000 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday out of the 61,000 tests done. The positivity rate was under 8.5%, compared to 15.2% on November 7.
The fatality numbers have been around 100 each for the last 10 days
The Arvind Kejriwal-headed AAP government has sought advice from experts for measures which will help in reducing the number of deaths.
