Dengue Scare In Odisha’s Rayagada, Medical Team Reaches Spot

Rayagada: Reports of dengue spreading across Rayagada district are doing rounds and the vector-borne disease is reported to have claimed at least two lives so far.

According to residents of Kolnara block, the two dengue victims were identified as Pradeep Hadibamsa and Sudarshan Kantabamsa. Both the deceased had belonged to Goud Lelibadi village under Kolnara Block in the district.

While denying the dengue deaths in the block, the district administration has deputed a medical team from Rayagad that reached Lelibadi in Kolnara block on Monday. The team members are reported to have created awareness on the need to maintain clean and hygenic surrounding in the village. The officials have also collected blood samples from a few villagers who were suffering from fever and headache.

Seven other persons who are believed to have been afflicted by dengue and other viral fevers have gone to hospitals in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh in the absence of proper medical facilities in the vicinity.
