Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department on Wednesday issued dense fog warning for some districts of Odisha.
The Met Centre, Bhubaneswar has issued yellow warning over the districts of Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Khurda, Cuttack and Dhenkanal today night and tomorrow morning.
Responding to the IMD’s warning, the Special Relief Commissioner’s office has issued an advisory for controlled plying of vehicles on the highways to avoid any road accident.
The concerned police and transport officials of respective districts have been instructed to take necessary steps.
The IMD stated in its bulletin that minimum night temperature is likely to fall by 3 to 5 degree Celsius over the districts of Interior Odisha and by 2 to 3 degrees over the districts of Coastal Odisha during next 2 to 3 days.
It may be mentioned here that driver of a gas tanker lost control over the vehicle resulting in its overturning due to dense fog and poor visibility between 5.30 am and 6 am on NH-16 in Ganjam district today.
