Dense Fog Wraps Odisha, Yellow Warning Issued For Next Five Days
Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been witnessing dense fog for past few days and the decreased visibility has hit, vehicular, train and air traffic. And similar conditions are likely to prevail till Wednesday ( January 22).
On Saturday, the Regional Meteorological Centre here issued yellow warning for several districts in the state for the next five days.
As per a release, one or two places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Kendrapara , Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Sundargarh districts will experience dense fog till 8.30 am on Sunday.
From 8.30 am on January 19 till 8.30 am on January 20
One or two places in Khurda, Puri, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Sundargarh and Keonjhar will experience dense fog.
From 8.30 am on January 20 till 8.30 am on January 21
Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in Balangir, Kalahandi, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal and Koraput.
From 8.30 am on January 21 till 8.30 am on January 22
There will be dense fog at a few places with very dense fog at one or two places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Koraput, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Sundargarh districts.
From 8.30 am on January 22 till 8.30 am on January 23
Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, Dhenkanal and Kandhamal. Thunderstorm with lightning is also likely to occur at one or two places in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj during this period.
The Jagannath Temple in Puri had became almost invisible on Saturday morning with visibility dropping to 20 metres due to dense fog.
The night temperature is expected to rise, which means cold conditions will gradually subside in Odisha,” Met Centre duty officer, Charan Behera, had informed.
The evening release also mentioned that the minimum temperature in Bhubaneswar will be around 18 degree Celsius in next 24 hours.
