Depression Over East-Central Bay Of Bengal In Next 36 Hours

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in most parts of Odisha for two days from September 20.
In a release on Wednesday, the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, said that a cyclonic circulation formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal along the Myanmar coast will turn into a low-pressure on Wednesday and is most likely to concentrate into a depression the following morning.
Under its influence, very heavy rainfall would occur in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Koraput districts on September 20 and Nuapada, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi districts on September 21.
Due to the inclement weather, the local fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till September 22 while those who have gone for deep-sea fishing have been advised to return to the coast by the evening on September 19.
Meanwhile, the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has asked the collectors of these nine districts to remain on high alert.
