Puri: Devotees will be allowed to enter the Shree Gundicha temple in Odisha’s pilgrim town of Puri from the Rath Yatra, next year. This has been decided by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
Giving this information, Chief Administrator of SJTA Ranjan Kumar Dash said that the developmental work of Shree Gundicha Temple will begin soon. The whole process is most likely to take five to six months to complete.
The transformational work at the temple includes the kitchen of the shrine, the place where vegetables are cut, the place where the devotees have Prasad and the path on which deities are taken in pahandi, he said.
This apart, the development of the park and a hall is under construction where religious activities can be held all around the year. All these will also be part of the developmental work and it can be termed as the ‘Nabakalebara of Shree Gundicha Temple,’ the SJTA chief said. The entire work is expected to be completed much before the next Rath Yatra following which the devotees will be permitted to enter the shrine.
