Cuttack: After a gap of more than two months, the famous Dhabaleswar Temple in Athagarh in Odisha’s Cuttack was reopened to the public on Wednesday.
According to sources, devotees can reach the shrine through a temporary bridge constructed over the Mahanadi as the repair work of the hanging bridge, connecting the temple, is still underway.
Notably, the local administration had previously planned to reopen the temple on Makar Sankranti, but the Athagarh sub-collector directed for reopening of the temple due to early construction of a temporary bridge.
It is pertinent to mention here that prohibitory orders under Section 144 were clamped for the repair of the hanging bridge at the shrine for an indefinite period on November 1 after being alarmed by the horrific bridge tragedy at Morbi in Gujarat. An expert team from Kolkata was roped in to inspect the bridge.
