Dharmendra Pradhan To Lay Foundation Stone Of LPG Bottling Plant In Balangir

Bhubaneswar: In a step towards promoting smokeless villages, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be laying the foundation stone of a LPG Bottling Plant at Barkhani in Balangir district on May 21. The initiative is being carried out by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.

The plant, spread over an area of 23 acres, will be constructed at the cost of Rs 103 crore.
“The bottling plant will be completed in two years. The deadline is March 2020, though efforts are being made to complete it before schedule,” said Manas Mohanty, Head, Infrastructure Task Force (East).
It is expected to have a capacity for 42 lakh refills.
Currently, Odisha has LPG Bottling plants at Balasore, Jharsuguda, Khurda and Jatni, set up by different oil companies. The total capacity of the four plants is 2.80 crore cylinder per annum.
The bottling plant at Balangir is the second by Bharat Petroleum in the state after Khurda.
Plans are afoot to set up new plants in Bhubaneswar and Rayagada also.
Besides Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot, Kalikesh Singhdeo, Narasingha Mishra and KV Singhdeo are expected to attend the event on May 21.
