Dilip Kumar Buried With Full State Honours; Big B Mourns Loss Of ‘Idol’
Mumbai: The legendary Dilip Kumar’s funeral took place on Wednesday evening with full state honours as announced by Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.
The actor’s mortal remains were draped in a Tricolour, while Army bands played as a tribute to one of Indian cinema’s tallest artists.

Dilip Kumar, who passed away at the age of 98 after a prolonged illness, was buried Juhu Qabrastan in Santacruz.
Actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Vidya Balan visited Dilip Kumar’s residence earlier in the day to condole his widow Saira Banu and other members of the family. CM Thackeray also met Saira Banu to pay his respects.
Among those who attended the funeral were Amitabh Bachchan, who considered Dilip Kumar to be his idol.
“My idol Dilip Saheb .. lost .. never before never after .. ‘an epic era has drawn curtains .. never to happen again’ Peace and duas,” Bachchan posted on Instagram with an iconic picture with his idol. The two had acted in the superhit Shakti.
