District Collectors Asked To Take Preventive Measures For Odisha Bandh

Bhubaneswar: In view of Odisha Bandh called by Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan on Thursday, the collectors have been asked to take preventive measures to maintain law and order in their respective districts.

In a letter, Home department special secretary Lalit Das has asked the collectors to instruct the officers and other staff to reach the office by 9.30 AM.

The state government apprehends that the agitators may stop vehicular traffic, rail traffic and close down business establishments, besides picketing before government offices, banks and educational institutions.

The farmers’ body has decided to go ahead with the state-wide bandh despite an appeal from the government to desist from it since it may hit the movement of question papers & answer sheets for the annual HSC board examination scheduled to be held on February 22.
