Domestic Flights’ SOP: No Trolleys At Airports, Own Vehicles For Transportation; Know What’s Mandatory

New Delhi: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced the SOPs for airline passengers, who can board flights from Monday.

The Civil Aviation Ministry had announced resumption of domestic flights from May 25 amid the ongoing nationwide lockdown, on Wednesday.

As per the guidelines, all passengers will have to undergo thermal screening before entering the airline premises. Besides, Aarogya Setu app has been made compulsory for people who will use the airline services. However, the app is not mandatory for children below 14 years.

A passenger will be debarred from travelling if they don’t show “green”  in the contact tracing app or do not have that app.

To complete the check-in process smoothly, the passengers have to report at the airport two hours before departure. The state governments and administrations have to ensure public transport and private taxis for passengers and airline crew, the guidelines read.

For commuting to and from the airport for both staff and passengers, the authority has allowed only personal vehicles or select cab services.

Moreover, passengers are advised not to carry heavy luggage as trolleys will not be allowed at the airport except for special cases.

All passengers have to wear masks and gloves, it added.
