Jajpur: One person was killed and another sustained grievous injuries after a car owned by ace sprinter Dutee Chand met with an accident on NH-16 near Biju Nagar under Kuakhia police limits in Jajpur on Wednesday morning.
The victims, Utkal Guni (25) and Dhaneswar Das (24), are said to be relatives of Dutee. They had taken the car out to learn driving, but unfortunately lost control over the vehicle following which it dashed against a stationary paddy-laden truck.

While Utkal died on the spot, Dhaneswar was rescued by police and admitted to the Community Health Centre at Madhuban Haat in a critical condition. He was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack when his condition deteriorated.
