Cuttack: An elderly man was killed in a road mishap at Palli Sahi in Mahanga of Cuttack district on Tursday morning.
Sources said Dhruba Charan Sahu of Hatapada was walking back home on the Pallisahi-Erakana road when a speeding truck hit him from behind, killing him on the spot.
Irate residents stopped the truck and are demanding compensation for the next of kin of the dead. Mahanga police have reached the spot and are trying to pacify the situation.
