Dhenkanal: A woman was trampled to death by an elephant at Nimidha village in Dhenkanal district late on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Indumati Rout.
The wild animal entered the human settlement, dragged Indumati out of her house before trampling her to death.
Peeved over the incident, a group of local residents staged a blockade on National Highway-55 at Goudakateni Chhak demanding adequate compensation to the bereaved family.
