Ganjam: In view of the flood situation and waterlogging in the aftermath of Cyclone Arnab, schools in Odisha’s Ganjam district will remain closed till November 3.
Ganjam District Collector VK Keerthi Vasan announced on Saturday that all educational institutions, including primary, secondary and high schools, degree colleges, technical institutions and university departments as well as Anganwadi centres will continue to be shut as a precautionary measure for students’ safety and well-being.
However, all teaching and non-teaching staff of the educational institutions will have to be present for duty and attend to their assigned responsibilities.
Ganjam is one of the worst-affected districts as severe flooding has inundated low-lying areas, disrupted key road networks and affected everyday life across several blocks in the district.
Parents, students, and school authorities have been advised to follow official administrative updates regarding the reopening of schools.
