Elon Musk Says Twitter Too Slow In India, Apologises To Users
New Delhi: Having laid off almost 90% of Twitter India staff, Elon Musk now says that the Twitter app is very slow in several countries, including India and Indonesia.
The world’s richest person, who took over Twitter last month, believes Twitter isn’t performing the way it should in some regions.
“Twitter is very slow in India, Indonesia & many other countries. This is a fact, not a ‘claim’. 10 to 15 secs to refresh homeline tweets is common. Sometimes, it doesn’t work at all, especially on Android phones. The only question is how much delay is due to bandwidth/latency/app,” Musk tweeted.
He went on to say that Twitter refreshes in about 2 seconds in the US, compared to India where it could take about 10 to 20 seconds, while in some parts of the world it takes 30 seconds. Musk is of the view that the issue of slowdown could be due to “bad batching/verbose comms”.

He even apologised to users who faced these issues.
“I’d like to apologise for Twitter being super slow in many countries. App is doing >1000 poorly batched RPCs just to render a home timeline!” he wrote in one of the latest tweets.
The Twitter boss is determined to fix the issue soon.
Musk said that he and his team are working to speed up the platform, though some Twitter employees disagreed with Musk’s inaccurate assessment.
The Tesla CEO has not taken criticism or suggestions well, and fired several engineers who went against Musk on Twitter.
