Encouraging Interim Budget 2019 For ECoR

Bhubaneswar: The Centre has made the highest ever interim budget provisions to the tune of Rs 7010 crore for East Coast Railway (ECoR) in particular and for Odisha in general.

This was revealed during the presentation of the interim budget in the Parliament on Friday.

The total allotment of funds for ECoR for the current fiscal is Rs 7010 crore, which is 13 per cent more than last year. This includes all budgetary heads including projects, electrifications, passenger amenities, workshops, track, staff amenities, etc.
Mentioned below are some of the highlights of the budgetary allocation for the development of the railway sector in Odisha.

  1. Sanction of Rs 278 crore for construction of a new line between Talcher and Angul (14.5 km).

2. Allotment for new lines this year is Rs 2630 crore, which is 67 per cent more than the last year.

  1. Allotment for passenger amenities is Rs 181 crore with an increase of 119 per cent as compared to last year (Rs 82 crore).

The allotment for various important projects and the budget grant:

  1. Angul-Sukinda Road (98.7 km) Rs 250 crore
    2. Haridaspur-Paradeep (82 km) Rs 400 crore
    3. Khurda Road-Bolangir (289 km) Rs 350 crore
    4. Talcher-Bimalagarh (154 km) Rs 150 crore
    5. Jeypore-Malkanagiri (127 km) Rs 70 crore
    6. Jeypore-Nabarangpur (38 km) Rs 10 crore

Doubling/Third Line
1. Sambalpur-Talcher (174.11 km)-Rs 249 crore
2. Sambalpur-Titlagarh (182.11 km)-Rs 170 crore
3. Bansapani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura (180 km)-Rs 85 crore
4. Bhadrak-Nergundi-3rd line (80 km)-Rs 86 crore
5.Vizianagaram-Sambalpur 3rd line-Rs 350 crore
6. Jarapada-Budhapank 3rd and 4th line-Rs 120 crore
7. Budhapanka-Salegaon 3rd and 4th line-Rs 210 crore
8. Koraput-Singapur Road-Rs 205 crore
9. Manoharpur-Bandhamunda 3rd line-Rs 40 crore
10. Rourkela-Jharsuguda 3rd line-Rs 150 crore
11. Bandhamunda-Rourkela 4th line-Rs 20 crore
