Mumbai: Preity Zinta recently showed her support for Maharashtra FDA commissioner Tukaram Mundhe by sporting a ‘Team Tukaram Mundhe’ T-shirt.
The gesture caught Mundhe’s attention, but the FDA chief made it clear that wearing a T-shirt alone is not enough.
Speaking to PTI, Mundhe acknowledged Preity’s support for his work and revealed that the two have never met or spoken. Despite this, he said he was grateful that the actor had mentioned him and his work.
“I haven’t spoken to her personally, nor have we talked over the phone. But I am grateful that she mentioned Team Tukaram Mundhe,” the FDA chief said.
“I feel that people with good intentions exist at every level and in every sector of society. A team should be formed around these good causes; good ideas, thoughts and actions should be promoted,” he added.
He continued, “Simply wearing a T-shirt with ‘Team Tukaram Mundhe’ is not enough. Merely displaying the title won’t suffice; the actual work must be done, and the right mindset must be adopted.”
Earlier this month, Preity was seen sporting the ‘Team Mundhe’ T-shirt with blue jeans and white sneakers. She completed the casual look with a sleek watch and wore her hair open.
Keeping her makeup understated, the actor opted for defined eyeliner, a natural base, rosy cheeks and a subtle lip colour. However, it was the message on her T-shirt that grabbed attention.
Mundhe has recently been in the spotlight over food-safety inspections across Mumbai.
The enforcement drive has focused on hygiene, sanitation, pest control and proper food storage at restaurants and other food establishments.
Several establishments have reportedly been flagged for violations, including unhygienic conditions, pest infestations and improper storage practices.
Authorities have also taken action against businesses found violating food-safety norms, with some facing suspension or cancellation of their licences.
