Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Friday apprehended junior clerk of Deogarh College, Manjula Pradhan, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
According to an official release, she had demanded the illegal gratification to issue fresh original Plus II certificates to a former student of the college, whose original certificates were damaged.
The entire bribe money was recovered from her and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are on at 2 locations linked to Pradhan to ascertain whether she has accumulated assets disproportionate to her known sources of income.
A case has also be registered against her under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (amendment) Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway, it added.
