Passenger train services in the country remains suspended, but that hasn’t deterred Indian Railways from doing their bit in India’s fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
In their latest innovation, South Western Railway’s (SWR) Hubballi workshop has created transparent contactless cubicles for doctors and medical professionals. Doctors who use these cubicles while checking suspected coronavirus patients won’t come in direct contact with patients.
According to a press release issued by SWR, the cubicles developed by Hubballi Workshop can be used by doctors to remain isolated from patient, protecting them from catching the COVID-19 infection.
According to SWR, gloves protruding out of the cubicle will be changed and the exterior and interior of the chamber will be sanitized after every test.
