Now, Five Wagons Of Goods Train Roll On Sans Engine In Balasore
Balasore: A week after 22 coaches of Ahmedabad-Puri Express rolled down from Titlagarh in Balangir district to Kesinga in Kalahandi district, covering a distance of about 13 km without engine, a similar incident was reported from Soro in Balasore district late on Saturday.
According to sources, five wagons of a goods train rolled down for two km after getting detached from the engine. The train carrying 60 wagons was heading towards Tata from Dharma Port station in Bhadrak.
Five wagons along the railway guard cabin of the moving train suddenly unfastened between Bahanaga and Panapana railway stations in the late hours. Neither the driver nor the railway guard had any inkling of the incident.
After a few minutes, the driver spotted it and stopped the train at Khantapada railway station.
Following information, a railway engine from Bahanaga railway station was sent to bring back the five detached wagons to Khantapada railway station, where these were shunted with the goods train engine.
Meanwhile, Station Manager of Khantapada railway station Debendra Kumar Mahakud has apprised the authorities of South Eastern Railway of the matter and requested for an investigation into the incident.
