Bengaluru: Flipkart has joined the electric bandwagon, following in the footsteps of Amazon.
On Thursday, the e-commerce giant announced that it will buy 25,000 electric vehicles and achieve 100 per cent transition to electric mobility by 2030.
The company has already deployed two and three-wheeler EVs in Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati and Pune.
The EVs will be designed and assembled in India.
Flipkart will partner with multiple EV makers including Hero Electric, Mahindra Electric and Piaggio. It is planning to install charging infrastructure close to its supply chain facilities.
