Balasore: The flood situation in the state remained grim with several villages of Balasore district still under water.
According to reports, more than 63 villages under Bhograi block and 20 villages of Baliapal block in the district have been inundated with Subarnarekha river flowing above the danger mark at Rajghat. The water level in the river was 11.33 metres as against the red mark of 10.40 metres.
Road communication between Gabagaon and Bhautentuli has also been disrupted with water running above 4ft along the stretch.
Keeping the situation in view, the state government has made all arrangements to intensify rescue operations in the flood-hit areas of the state.
