Kolkata: Manoj Tiwary is the latest celebrity to take the plunge in politics. The former Bengal Ranji Trophy captain on Wednesday joined Trinamool Congress (TMC) at an election rally in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
“A new journey begins from today. Need all your love & support. From now onwards this will be my political profile on Instagram,” Tiwary tweeted. He also shared an Instagram page where he will be posting updates.

Interestingly, another former Bengal captain Laxmi Ratan Shukla resigned from TMC last month as he wanted to concentrate on sports activities.
Shukla served as minister of state for Youth Affairs and Sports in the Mamata cabinet.
A host of Tollywood artistes — including Yash Dasgupta, Rudranil Ghosh, Papiya Adhikari and Soumili Ghosh Biswas — joined the saffron party earlier this month.
