Former Employee Arrested In SBI Gold Loot Case In Odisha’s Koraput
Koraput: Two days after gold jewellery was stolen from a branch of State Bank of India (SBI) in the disrict, police arrested a former employee of the bank on Sunday.
According to sources, the police nabbed the accused from his house at Bikrampur following investigation into the case. The arrested person was identified as Sekhar Kuldipiya.
They also seized stolen gold jewellery weighing around 1.18 kg from Sekhar’s house. The ornaments were kept hidden in the hearth and a rice bowl in the kitchen, sources said.
On Friday, the manager of the SBI’s Laxmipur branch had filed a complaint with police that gold jewellery weighing 1.6 kg had been stolen from the bank’s locker.
Police had registered a case and launched investigation.
