Four Detained For Hotelier’s Murder In Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: Plant Site Police on Tuesday detained four persons in connection with the alleged murder of a hotel owner on the night of February 9.

The four detainees are being interrogated at the police station, sources said.

Notably, two bike-borne miscreants had intercepted Sajjan Mittal near his house at the DAV School Lane on the fateful night soon after he returned from his hotel at Gandhi Road.

They later took him inside the house and hit him on the head with an iron rod before fleeing the spot.

A profusely bleeding Mittal was admitted to Ispat General Hospital (IGH) where he succumbed to his injuries around 3 am while undergoing treatment.

Preliminary investigation had attributed the murder to a property dispute.

In October last year, Sajjan had lodged a complaint against two persons – Prem Modi and Dillip Sharma – in this connection.
