Fresh COVID Cases Inch Closer To 5K In Odisha; 3 Districts In Red Zone With Over 10% TPR

Bhubaneswar: COVID-19 active cases in Odisha breached the 20,000-mark on Monday with 4829 fresh cases being detected in the last 24 hours against 4717 the previous day.

According to the I & PR Department, 2823 fresh infections are from quartine and 2006 local contacts. Among them, 448 are in the age group of 18 years.

The highest of 933 cases have been reported from Khurda district followed by Sundargarh (869) and Sambalpur (644).

While the state’s test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 6.49 per cent, Khurda, Sundargarh and Sambalpur are in the RED zone with 11.9, 10.6 and 10.9 per cent respectively.

Odisha now has 20560 active cases and the COVID-19 tally has touched 1075698. Khurda alone has 6496 active cases followed by Sundargarh (3060), Sambalpur (1923) and Cuttack (1550), according to the state dashboard.
