Sambalpur/Cuttack: A day after the escape of dreaded gangster Sheikh Hyder from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, six policemen were suspended on Sunday for dereliction of duty.

The six suspended policemen were on duty outside the cabin of Surgery Ward of SCBMCH to keep a close watch on Hyder.

Briefing media earlier in the day, Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh said the authorities of Sambalpur Circle Jail had admitted Hyder to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla for gallbladder surgery.
