Ganjam: Chhatrapur of Ganjam district is giving sleepless nights to the state government officials with rising COVID-19 cases. As many as 87 cases were reported in last three days. Despite lockdown, sanitisation and other containment measures, the authorities have failed to put a brake on the spread of the virus.
As a result, it has become a source of concern for the administration. The residents of Chhatrapur are also living in fear.
It was only in May that Ganjam district reported its first COVID-19 case and since then the district has witnessed a steady spike in corona cases.
Among the 87 cases, six are corona warriors; seven have travel history and 74 contact cases.
The COVID-19 tally on July 20 was 29 in Chhatrapur, among them one was a corona warrior and 28 were local cases. On July 19, 31 tested positive. Among them, three were COVID warriors, one had travel history and 27 were local cases.
On July 18, the Chhatrapur reported 27 cases, out of them two were corona warriors, six had travel history and 19 were local contacts.
On the other hand, it has been five days since the Chhatrapur NAC started door-to-door health screening. The district administration is leaving no stone unturned to curb the spread of the virus.
With an aim to spread awareness, plasma therapy procedure will start soon in the district.
