Bhubaneswar: Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani arrived in Puri on Saturday to attend the world-famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings in the pilgrim town.
As per sources, Adani reached the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar at around 9.45 am. Soon after arrival in the capital city, he proceeded to the seaside pilgrim town of Puri to witness the car festival.
In Puri, Adani i scheduled to visit the Gundicha Temple to offer prayers and will remain there for some time, engaging with servitors and devotees.
Later in the day, Adani is slated to meet Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the evening. He is set to depart from Bhubaneswar airport in the evening.
It may be noted that the Adani Group has launched the ‘Prasad Seva’ in Puri Dham, alongside a broader effort to assist pilgrims and frontline officials during the Rath Yatra, which will continue till July 8.
Nearly 4 million meals and drinks will be distributed free of cost during the festival as lakhs of pilgrims from across the country and abroad are visiting Puri to participate in chariot pulling ritual of the sibling deities of Shree Jagannath Temple.
There are designated food counters providing free and nutritious meals to pilgrims and officials and beverage counters across the city offering cool drinks to beat the heat.
The group is also extending support to lifeguards of Puri Beach Lifeguard Mahasangha and volunteers for beach clean-up, especially plastic waste. It has commissioned 450 trained lifeguards to be deployed around water bodies and trouble spots to provide timely assistance and ensure public safety.
