Kolkata: Television commentator Danny Morrison is known to make funny and, at times, weird comments in public.
But what he did ahead of the IPL clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Monday evening will take some beating.
The former New Zealand pacer, who was out there in the middle at Eden Gardens for the toss of coin to interview the two captains, actually asked Shubman Gill whether he will get married soon!
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and said his team will bowl first. After asking Rahane the reason for his decision and team changes, Morrison turned to the Gujarat captain.
Rather than cricket, it became a personal quizzing.
“You’re looking good, wedding bells around the corner? Getting married soon?” Morrison asked.
Gill must have been taken aback, but hardly showed it.
“No, nothing like that,” the handsome opener said with a smile.
One of the most eligible bachelors among Indian cricketers, Gill has been linked with Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara and actress Ridhima Pandit. Both have turned out to be juicy gossip only.
Recently, the buzz has been that Gill is dating actress and social media influencer Avneet Kaur after she attended the India versus Australia Champions Trophy semifinal at Dubai.
However, some netizens pointed out that Avneet is in a steady relationship with casting director Raghav Sharma.
Where Morrison got his ‘information’ from about Gill’s impending marriage is anyone’s guess.
