Bhubaneswar: General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR), Parmeshwar Funkwal, on Monday felicitated five railway employees for their outstanding performance in ensuring safe and smooth train operations.
The felicitation ceremony was held at the ECoR Headquarters, Rail Sadan in Bhubaneswar, in the presence of the Additional General Manager, Principal Chief Safety Officer, and other senior railway officials, ECoR said in a press release.
The employees felicitated for their remarkable service include: Shakti Prasad Sahoo, Train Pointsman, Kamakhyanagar; Debraj Suna, Track Maintainer, Godbhaga; Purna Chandra Panda, Goods Train Loco Pilot, Khurda Road; Surakattula Sricharan Teja, Assistant Loco Pilot, Rayagada; Pujan Kumar, Track Maintainer, Titlagarh.
Funkwal applauded the employees for their alertness, quick response, and dedication while on duty, which played a vital role in preventing potential disruptions and ensuring passenger safety.
He highlighted that the backbone of Indian Railways lies in the commitment and vigilance of its field staff, whose actions are integral to the safe and efficient operation of train services.
Emphasising the importance of safety at every level, he encouraged all railway personnel to maintain a high standard of alertness, responsibility, and professional excellence.
The event concluded with a renewed call for maintaining a zero-compromise approach towards safety and continuing the culture of recognizing and encouraging exemplary performance within the organisation.
