Berhampur: A girl allegedly committed suicide after she flunked the matriculation examination, the results of which were declared on Monday.
The incident took place at Narendrapur village under Shergada block in Ganjam district.
The girl, identified as Lily Swain, allegedly consumed some poisonous substance in a state of depression after getting to know that she had failed to clear the examination the same night.
Her family members immediately took her to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. However, she succumbed while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
