Kandhamal: Police are on the lookout for two minor boys for their alleged involvement in the rape a minor girl in Daringbadi area of Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Sunday evening.
According to police, the victim had gone to Daringbadi block with her father to apply for caste certificate. Later, the duo returned to their village in an auto-rickshaw. After arriving at the chhak near their village Partamaha, they got down of the vehicle and were on the way to their village when two minor boys dragged the girl into the forest and raped her.
Following the incident, her father went to the village and informed the villagers. Seeing the villagers, the two minor boys fled the area.
The victim was later rushed to the district headquarters hospital for a medical examination.
“I have conducted the medical examination of the minor girl. I will submit my report to the Daringbadi IIC,” said Dr Kalpana Kumari Dalei.
“We have registered a case in this connection. Police will take appropriate action after receiving the medical report,” Daringbadi IIC Tushar Kant Mohapatra said on Monday.
