Bhubaneswar: A girl allegedly jumped into Kuakhai river near Hanspal, on the outskirts of the Odisha capital, on Monday.
According to eyewitnesses, the girl came on a vehicle, parked it on the bridge and suddenly jumped into deep waters.

On being informed by locals, police and fire officials rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
Though the reason behind the incident is not yet known, police suspect that the girl might have jumped into the river in an attempt to commit suicide.
