Govt effects major reshuffle in IPS cadre

Bhubaneswar: The state government effected major changes in portfolios of at least 32 IPS officers on Wednesday.
According to a notification issued by the home department, SPs of at least 19 districts have been changed through this reshuffle.
IPS officer Manoj Kumar Chabra of 1988 batch has been posted as the new additional director general (training) of Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA), while 1989-batch officer SM Narvane has been appointed additional director general of Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC).
IPS officer Sushant Kumar Nath of 1993 batch has been appointed new IG (Northern Range) and his batchmate Vinayatosh Mishra posted as the IG (Eastern Range).
Similarly, 1995-batch officer Radha Kishan Sharma is the new IG of Crime Branch’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and Special Task Force (STF) while Arun Bothra, a 1996-batch IPS officer, has been posted as the new IG (Railways).
Amitabh Thakur, a 1998-batch IPS officer, is the new IG (Modernization), while Ghanshyam Upadhyay of 1999 batch has been appointed the IG (Southern Range).
IPS officer Nikhil Kumar Kanodia of 2003 batch has been posted as the new DIG (Police Training) BPSPA and Kavita Jalan (2003-batch IPS) is the new DIG Rourkela.
Sanjeev Arora (2005 batch IPS officer) will hold the post of Sambalpur SP and Anirudh Kumar Singh (2006-batch IPS officer) that of Mayurbhanj.
Umashankar Dash (2008-batch IPS officer) will take over as Rourkela SP and his batchmate Prakash R as Jharsuguda SP.
Akhileswar Singh, a 2009-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the DCP of Cuttack and Brijesh Kumar Rai of the same batch is the new SP of Angul.
While 2009-batch IPS officer Charan Singh Meena has been transferred to Jajpur as the new SP, Mitrabhanu Mohapatra of the 2010 batch has been appointed Kandhamal SP.
Sarah Sharma, 2010-batch officer, has been given the principal post of Police Training Institute (Byree, Jajpur), while Kanwar Vishal Singh of the same batch is the new SP of Koraput.
Similarly, 2010-batch IPS officer K Siva Subramani has been posted as the new SP of Balangir and Ashish Kumar Singh is the new SP of Nayagarh.
Pinak Mishra (2011-batch IPS) has been posted as the new SP of Sundergarh, while Battula Gangadhar of the same batch has been given charge of Deogarh SP.
Sudhanshu Sekhar Mishra, an IPS of 2012 batch, has been given charge of Boudh SP and his batchmate Madhakar Sandeep Sampat is the new SP of Kalahandi.
Anupama James (2013-batch officer) has been appointed as the new DCP (Headquarters), Bhubaneswar, while Rahul PR of the same batch has been posted as the SP of Rayagada.
Smith P Parmar (2013-batch IPS officer) is the new SP of
Nuapada and Jagmohan Meena of the same batch will hold the post of Malkangiri SP.
Apart those, 2013-batch IPS officer Mukesh Kumar Bhahmoo has been posted as the new SP of Nabarangpur and OPS officer Dipti Ranjan Ray is the new SP of Khurda.
