Burla: Tension ran high on the premises of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla of Sambalpur district after a group clash erupted on the premises of the educational institution on Saturday night.
According to sources, a violent clash broke out between two groups of students over some issue during the annual day celebration of the university called ‘Basanta’.
Several students from both sides sustained injuries in the fight.
After receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and attempted to disperse the agitating students.
However, the situation came under control after the cops urged the students to concentrate on studies and assured them that their issues will be brought to the notice of the authorities concerned.
