Mumbai: Amid the ongoing controversy around ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, co-producer Gunbir Singh Sidhu broke his silence over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir and the decision to skip the film’s release in India.
Breaking his silence over the controversy, Sidhu said that Hania’s comments on Operation Sindoor did hurt the sentiments of Indians, and thus, they will not be working with any Pakistani artist in future.
“I believe that they should not have made such statements. But I cannot comment more than that. I would say that those things should not have happened and she hit below the belt,” Gunbir told NDTV, while admitting that Hania’s comments against India were wrong.
“Now we have taken this decision with full strength that we will not work with any Pakistani artist from now on.”
On the decision to not release the film in India, Sidhu revealed that the makers had decided on this soon after the Pahalgam attack and tensions between the two countries.
Gunbir further explained that they didn’t want to hurt their fellow countrymen.
He further revealed that this decision has cost the makers a loss of nearly 40% of their revenue.
