Heatwave Across Himachal Pradesh, Temperature Rises Above Normal

Shimla: Director of India Meteorological Department(IMD), Shimla, Dr Manmohan Singh on Wenesday said that the temperature in Himachal Pradesh has risen by 3 to 4-degrees celsius, which is above normal.

“In the last three to four days, the maximum temperature in Shimla was 28.4 degrees celsius that is 3-4 degrees above normal. This season’s highest temperature of 43.2 degrees celsius in the state was recorded in Una,” he told ANI.

A few days back, Shimla recorded 28.4 degree celsius, which was abnormal for the hill station. Several parts of Himachal Pradesh recorded the maximum temperature beyond 40 degrees.

The current maximum temperature is 44 degrees celsius in Bilaspur district, 40 in Sirmaur, 36  in Kangra, 37 in Hamirpur, 36 in Mandi, 33 in Chamba and 31 in Solan.

Also, IMD has issued ‘red alert’ in several parts of North India, which includes Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan, for the next two days.
