Highest Single-Day Spike Of 57 Cases In Gajapati, Odisha’s Tally Rises To 4338
Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 cases in Odisha rose to 4338 on Wednesday with 175 new patients being detected in the last 24 hours.
While 145 have been detected in quarantine centres where returnees from other states are lodged, the remaining 30 cases are local contacts, the Information and Public Relations Department said on Wednesday.
Gajapati reported the highest single-day spike of 57 cases followed by Khurda (25), Puri (18), Bargarh (11), seven each from Jagatsinghpur and Kandhamal, Balasore (6), five each from Sundargarh and Mayurbhanj, Nuapada (4), three each from Cuttack and Balangir, one each from Ganjam, Jharsuguda and Kendrapada.
The remaining 21 cases are Odisha Fire Service personnel, who were under quarantine after returning from Amphan duty in West Bengal.
