Hindu pilgrims from Pakistan visit Puri
Puri: A group of Hindu pilgrims from Sindh province in Pakistan are visiting the holy town to offer prayers at the Jagannath Temple. They are putting up at Govardhan Peeth here.
The 94 pilgrims from the neighbouring country are in India to attend the Sant Shada Ram anniversary to be observed at Raipur in Chhattisgarh. Before arriving in Puri, they toured Hindu shrines at Haridwar and Varanasi, reports said.
Besides visiting important temples in the holy town, they also attended a preaching session by Jagadguru Swami Nischalananda Saraswati at Govardhan Peeth.
“We will be taking back memories of peace, love and fraternity from Puri. We have no problem practising our religion in Pakistan and we feel blessed to be here in India,” said a devotee.
