House Democrats Contemplate Donald Trump Impeachment

Washington: The House of Democrats are contemplating to vote on Wednesday and call for the impeachment of President Donald Trump, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer was quoted as saying by CNN.

The House will vote on a resolution and urge vice-president Mike Pence to invoke 25th Amendment to remove Trump from power on Tuesday evening, and then plans to vote Wednesday at 9 am ET on the impeachment resolution, Hoyer said.

An article of impeachment was introduced by the House democrats which accused Trump of “incitement of insurrection.”

It may be recalled that four people were killed and 52 were arrested after supporters of outgoing President swarmed the US Capitol.

The unprecedented security breach came even as US lawmakers were counting Electoral College votes to certify President-elect Joe Biden and vice-president-elect Kamala Harris’ election victory.
