‘Human Trafficker’ Found Dead At Police Station In Odisha’s Sundergarh
Sundergarh: Mystery surrounded the death of an alleged human trafficker inside a police station at Dharuadihi in Sundergarh district.
Police said Sunil Lodhi, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, was found dead in the bathroom of the police station where he was kept in custody.
Sources said Lodhi was arrested on Friday for allegedly buying a minor girl from Sundergarh district and selling her in Madhya Paradesh.
The girl was rescued on Friday in Madhya Pradesh. Later, Lodhi was arrested and confined to Dharuadihi police station.
Police said the accused died after he slipped in the bathroom as there were injury marks on his body. However, the exact reason behind Lodhi’s death is yet to be ascertained.
His body was sent for postmortem.
Notably, an alleged middleman, Jugal Oram, and his associate, Sabita Dubey, were arrested along with Lodhi by Sundergarh police after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint regarding the minor girl’s abduction.
